Growing up on my familys farm west of Conway Springs, I learned that hard work and ingenuity were necessary in the day-to-day operations of agricultural life. They were qualities that we were proud of while working towards the common goal. I have carried this philosophy in my work in public schools and will continue as your superintendent here in Sedgwick.
Graduating from Conway Springs High School, I was able to enjoy the benefits of being part of a small hometown school district. I attended Emporia State University where I received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology. I attended Wichita State University and received a Specialist in Education Degree in 2004. For the past 14 year, I was employed by USD 353 in Wellington, Kansas as a school psychologist, administrator, finance director, and assistant superintendent.
My bride and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in November 2015. We have three children. Our two sons are attending college and our daughter attends Sedgwick High School. My wife is a school counselor at Wheatland Elementary of the Valley Center school district.
